Ronin-RS2 release date is September 9th, 2020 at 10:30 p.m. EDT says DJI

The DJI Ronin-RS2 release date is September 9th, 2020 at 10:30 p.m. EDT, as is confirmed in an email and tweet that came directly from the Chinese drone maker this morning.

We had already seen some leaked photos of the new DJI Ronin-RS2 on Twitter, but the release of this new DJI handheld gimbal stabilizer is now ‘imminent’ and confirmed with this morning’s email and tweet from DJI.

The teaser photo used in the email really doesn’t give us much information, as is typically the case for DJI. The name Ronin is prominently shown on part of the gimbal. Also visible is a typical ‘carbon fiber’ style pattern, which may or may not be real carbon fiber. And, we can clearly see a red line along the arm of the gimbal. This information seems to match the leaked photo that also showed the red line and seemed to show carbon fiber as well.

To me, this information still indicates a new ‘lightweight’ version of the DJI Ronin that will come to market soon. If the name of this new DJI product is indeed the DJI Ronin-RS2 that it might well bring the best of the Ronin-S and the Ronin-SC together in one new lightweight handheld gimbal stabilizer with all the features of the SC and then some.

I can’t wait until we learn more on September 9, 2020, at 10:30 p.m. EDT. Btw, this seems to be a first that we get DJI product release so late in the day for us here on the Eastcoast.
