Litchi for Mavic Mini in beta-testing. DJI Mavic Air 2 needs DJI SDK update

On June 15th, we wrote dass Litchi would likely be available for the DJI Mavic Mini and the Mavic Air 2 later this summer. We thought now would be a good time to check in with the app developer and see where things stand. Currently, Litchi for the Mavic Mini is in beta-testing and they’re waiting for DJI to update the Mavic Air 2 SDK.

We reached out to Litchi to get an update on when the app might become available for the DJI Mavic Mini and Mavic Air 2 and here’s their response:

Mavic mini support is in beta: http://flylitchi.com/beta

DJI has said they will add support for the Mavic Air 2 in a future SDK update. This update is required for Litchi to support this drone. At the moment we don’t have more details on when the update will be released and/or which feature will be supported.

Unfortunately, we do not have a firm date on when Litchi for the Mavic Mini will come out of beta testing as of yet, although Litchi did say the following:

Sorry we don’t know the release date yet, hopefully within next few weeks.

If you are interested in becoming a beta-tester you can sign up using the link above. Keep in mind though that test versions of the app may be unstable.

As far as the DJI Mavic Air is concerned, Litchi is dependent on DJI updating the SDK for that drone. Only at that point can they start working seriously on making the app available for DJI’s latest drone. We have reached out to DJI to see if we can get any information on that. We will update this post when we hear back from them. Until then, it seems that we have to patient…
