The ambitious project encompasses approximately 2 million square feet of construction area on a 168,500-square-foot plot within the prestigious Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, reports SCMP. This waterfront development represents a strategic move to consolidate DJI’s research and development capabilities in China‘s rapidly evolving low-altitude economy sector.

The new facility will serve as more than just corporate offices. Plans indicate the complex will house extensive research and development facilities, management operations, and demonstration areas, suggesting DJI’s intent to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence und beyond visual line of sight operations.

This expansion comes at a critical time for DJI, as the company continues to dominate the consumer drone market while facing increasing competition in the enterprise sector.
