A Historic Teaser with a Spinning Gimbal Reveal

Unlike previous DJI teasers that kept products under wraps, this announcement prominently displays the Mavic 4 Pro, showcasing its -branded camera—a staple of DJI’s premium drones since the Mavic 2 Pro. The decision to reveal the drone upfront may stem from the extensive leaks that have already detailed its design and features, leaving little to the imagination. A short video clip accompanying the teaser highlights the drone’s spinning gimbal, demonstrating its ability to rotate fully for dynamic 360-degree shots, a feature hinted at by the “Spin Your World” slogan. This capability could revolutionize aerial photography, especially for social media creators who rely on vertical shooting modes and panoramic captures.

Technical Breakdown and Expected Features

Die Pro’s design retains the foldable, compact structure of its predecessors, likely weighing around 2 pounds (907 grams) to ensure portability while meeting regulatory standards for recreational use in the U.S. The new Hasselblad camera would improve low-light performance and deliver sharper 4K or 6K video compared to the Mavic 3 Pro’s 20-megapixel Four Thirds CMOS sensor. The spinning gimbal, as shown in the teaser video, indicates advanced stabilization, possibly allowing for seamless 360-degree footage for creative aerial footage.

Building on the Mavic 3 Pro’s specs, the Mavic 4 Pro might offer a flight time exceeding 43 minutes and a transmission range of up to 9.3 miles (15 kilometers) using DJI’s OcuSync 4.0 technology. Enhanced obstacle avoidance sensors, potentially incorporating or infrared systems, could also be on the horizon, addressing user demands for safer flights in complex environments.

DJI’s decision to showcase the drone in its teaser may be a strategic move to reclaim the narrative after months of speculation, including leaks about a new controller and canceled features like ProRes. The spinning gimbal feature positions the Mavic 4 Pro as a top choice for creators, potentially boosting its appeal in sectors like filmmaking and real estate. 1. This is all well and good, but at a 145% price increase over DJI’s list price, I’m a solid pass.

  2. Why are all these folks so excited about a gimbal that will spin 360 degrees? Other than possibly helping slightly in stabilizing video the only thing that would be good for is gimmicky rotating shots that would serve to let everyone know you have no clue how to be creative with your videos.

    • For me it’ll help getting the perfect angle of shot while filming whales but not sure why everyone else likes it so much

    • If they allow vertical photo/video, this would be huge for composing those shots precisely. I hope they go back to allowing more than just 16:9 and 4:3. The phantom 4 also had 2:3. It would be nice to include 1:1, 1:2, and 5:4. Not holding my breath tho

  3. If you don’t think the rotating gimbal is a huge game changer your not paying attention. Just open your social media apps. All videos are now cropped in a vertical portrait format. No more cropping for instagram and tik tok. The portrait shooting orientation will make a huge diff.
