Police drone helps to find missing 12-year old boy in England

A Policía drone helps to find a missing 12-year old boy, who had disappeared overnight. Police officers had started their search after he was reported missing just after 8 p.m. in Nottinghamshire on Saturday, April 4th. This story is our most recent example in which drones are being used for good.

Right after the search had started, the drone team sent their unmanned aircraft up in the sky. The drone outfitted with a thermal camera was able to find the missing 12-year old boy within an hour, reports the Nottingham Post.

The Nottingham drone team helps police officers on the ground by supporting everything from river rescues to drug warrants. They also deploy the police drone during large-scale football matches.

The latter one is especially popular since it is both more affordable and easier to deploy. The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual is based on the DJI Mavic 2 and can easily be folded up and packed away. The downside of the Mavic is that the thermal resolution is much less than its far more expensive brother the DJ Matrice 200/210 with the DJI Zenmuse XT2.
