Autel Robotics launches the Autel Dragonfish, a vertical-take-off-and-landing (VTOL), fixed-wing drone exclusively for the Chinese market.

El nuevo Autel Dragonfish is a fixed-wing aircraft that is capable of vertical-take-off-and-landing (VTOL). At the tips of the wings are small rotating propellers to help stabilize the aircraft during takeoffs and landings and to propel it forward during normal flight. Two significantly larger propellers on the fuselage remain inactive during the flight but provide most of the lift during takeoff and landing procedures.

The Autel Dragonfish offers some impressive specs as it is capable of flying for two hours with a standard payload, offer a video transmission signal for 18.6 miles, fly at a top speed of 67 mph, is waterproof (IP43), has level 6 wind resistance, and can be operated in temperatures ranging from -4F to 131F up to an altitude of almost 20,000 feet.

The take of weight of the Autel Dragonfish is 17.2 Lbs and the fixed-wing drone can carry a maximum payload of 3.3 Lbs and can be assembled and be ready to fly in five minutes. The modular design is not only useful for travel but also allows for easy repairs and maintenance.

The drone is flown with the Autel Voyager controller has a 9.7″ 1000 NIT ultra-bright display and is specifically designed for the Autel Dragonfish for industry-specific applications. The software provides advanced mission planning, intelligent tracking, flight history tracking, and other autonomous features.

The Autel Dragonfish allows for three different standard payloads:

• A 4K Dual Sensor (4K 20x stabilized Optical Zoom / 48 MP Wide Angle / 3-Axis Gimbal)
• A 4K Triple Sensor (4K 20x stabilized Optical Zoom / 48 MP Wide Angle 640×512 Radiometric Thermal / 3-Axis gimbal)
• A Multispectral (1 RGB Wide Angle ( 48 MP) / 5 multispectral sensors (2MP))

Third-party options can also be mounted.

The Autel Dragonfish comes with a variety of automated functions to streamline and simplify mission tasks. Advanced algorithms add an additional layer of consistency and simplicity for the user workflow.

Unfortunately, we have been informed that the Autel Dragonfish will only be available in China for now with no immediate plans to bring this fixed-wing VTOL drone to the U.S. or Europa.
