Singer Benny Dayal Hit By A Drone In Live Concert In Chennai

A drone struck well-known singer Benny Dayal on Friday during a live performance in Chennai, India, and he sustained minor injuries as a result. Later, he shared an update on his Instagram account.

The drone struck the back of Benny Dayal’s head as he was performing at a Vellore Institute of Technology cultural festival. Before the management entered the stage to investigate what had happened to him, he immediately dropped to his knees while holding his head with both hands.

The singer posted a message on Instagram to inform his followers that he is fine, with the exception of bruising on the back of his head from being struck and severe injuries on two of his fingers.

‘I think I am going to recover from this much faster. Thanks for all the love and prayers.’ he said.

Looking at the video footage, the drone can be seen flying in a circular motion, very closely around the performing artist.

The singer shared the following message in his Instagram video:

‘I just want to express three things. All artists should make sure they have a clause that says the drone cannot come close to them while they are performing, as their movements cannot be coordinated. You need a person with you who is specifically working on drones. Please, all colleges, companies, and show or event organizers, get a certified drone operator because it’s very dangerous. The person should be certified to operate a drone. We are artists. We are just singing on stage. We are not Vijay or Ajay or Salman Khan or Prabhas or some other action hero. You don’t have to do all these stunts. Just do a regular show. We just want to look nice. The drones shouldn’t come so close to artists during a live performance,’ he said in the video.
