Retrieving meth packages dropped by drone results in arrest for Yuma minor – Yuma sector border patrol agents arrested a minor on Wednesday for retrieving multiple packages of methamphetamine that were dropped by a drone. The unmanned aerial vehicle (AUV) crossed the border with Mexique near San Luis, and agents spotted the young man in the same area.

Overdue hikers located by drone on Four Pass Loop attempt – The two hikers were one day overdue during an early-season attempt of the Four Pass Loop in Colorado. The duo was located by a drone from the Mountain Rescue Aspen team near Crater Lake on Wednesday.

Illegal drone flight over Disney World results in trespassing warning – After his illegal drone flight over Disney World in Floride, the 40-year-old drone pilot received a trespassing warning. According to the Orlando Sentinel, a security guard from Disney World saw the unmanned aircraft hovering about 100 feet from Cinderella’s Castle. The unidentified Floridian drone pilot was caught by an off-duty Orange County deputy. The illegal drone flight over Disney World happened on May 20th, 2020.

Atlantic bluefin tuna measured with an APH-22 hexacopter drone – In the Gulf of Maine, researchers use an APH-22 hexacopter drone to collect data and measure juvenile Atlantic bluefin tuna. The purpose of this pilot study was to see if a drone could keep up with the fast-moving tuna and take high-resolution photos that would capture individual fish and schools.

NEW UK DRONE LAWS DELAYED – New European drone laws which were set to start in the UK have been delayed for a second time, the Civil Aviation Authority has announced this afternoon. The regulations are now scheduled to commence on Thursday, December 31, 2020. The laws were originally due to begin in July this year, but were postponed in April due to the disruption caused by the Coronavirus outbreak and pushed back to a November 2020 start date. Today’s announcement has delayed them for a second time.
