First DJI Mavic 3 photo appears and interesting DJI patent

It is less than 5 days after the launch of the DJI Air 2S and just after the announcement that DJI enters the car-safety market, but to our big surprise, we received an actual photo of what seems to show a DJI Mavic 3 body! Our proven reliable source confirms it: This DJI Mavic 3 photo must show the drone in production!
First DJI Mavic 3 photo appears and interesting DJI patent
A few hours ago, this photo of a new DJI body seen from the left, suddenly surfaced on Chinese social media.
So what are we looking at? Three things we see in the photo
- Double cooling openings. We immediately remember this from earlier drawings of the Mavic 3. We have not yet seen these double air intakes on a DJI drone. And certainly not twice, on sides and top.
- The battery will definitely not load from the top like the Mavic 2. The new battery will slide in from behind and the motherboard will be installed on top of this part we see in the pictures. DJI literally threw away all the previous designs and will amaze us with their soon-to-be new flagship drone.
- There is a suspiciously strange and round hole in the center of this picture. Even though this seems like a harmless screw hole, it is already speculated might be a water-dust proofing and of course, an earlier patented connection from DJI. But at this point, those are just rumors.
By the way, another rumor from DJI insiders is that DJI is currently working on an 8K camera and using an Ambarella 3 processor. Will this be the future of the DJI Mavic 3? We certainly hope so.
Speaking of patents, whats with the upside down propellers?
Today the infamous DJI leaker, OsitaLV shared an interesting tweet. But the provided image quality was very poor. So We searched for some sharper images and we found them. Plus some extra viewpoints.
There is something strange about this drone, eh? We had to take a fast double look before realizing two propellors on the front are actually pointed downwards while the back two are still pointed up. Apparently, DJI patented this ‘trick’ back in the days when the DJI Air 2S was in production because that is clearly which drone we recognize in this picture.
Why would they design a drone like this?
Well, actually this new approach is pretty smart when you think about it. When the propellers are not on top, there is room for product designers to put extra sensors on the top of the body and the arms. A design feature that becomes necessary when you redesign a drone to have different needs. Just like we have seen from the Skydio 2 and the DJI Air 2S, drones simply need extra sensors on top to be fly autonomously. So even if you think this new propeller design is obnoxious. This might actually be the way DJI will go with their long-awaited DJI Mavic 3.

Interesting. How would such a UAV land on the ground when 2 props are pointed downwards. Will make for a nice lawn mower when landing on grass,
Hi there! Judging by the part photo. This is not injection molded part, it is similar to 3D printing part. SLS or SLA method. According to this part, the mavic3 will not have side sensors.
