A drone team captures aerial photos of a derailed train in southeast Texas. Authorities urged nearby residents to evacuate their homes as hazmat crews assessed the damage. The cause of the derailment and the cargo is still unknown.

The train cars left the track Thursday morning near Mauriceville, close to the border, according to the Orange County sheriff’s office. No injuries have been reported. People were urged to evacuate schools, businesses, and homes within a mile of the crash site, reports WBTV.

The Orange County drone team was able to capture these aerial images of the train wreck and shared them on Facebook.

There was a train derailment on the city Southern track in Mauriceville near the old 62 crossovers. Hazmat crews along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Mauriceville ESD 4 and several other agencies are working together to assess the situation. The schools, businesses, and residents within a mile radias have been asked to evacuate. While everyone a half mile outside of the mile are asked to shelter in place. Chief Manschack has set up a command post near 62 and Hwy 12. The Orange County Drone Unit was able to capture photos from the train wreck. More information will be released as the day progresses.
