Design and Safety First
Les DJI Neo sports a white/light gray color scheme with a rounded, streamlined body. Its standout feature is the integrated propeller guards, forming protective cages around each propeller. These guards are removable, offering flexibility for different flying conditions.
It seems to be a compact, consumer-focused drone with an emphasis on safety (propeller guards) and ease of use.
Smart Features for Easy Flying
The Neo isn’t just about looks. It’s equipped with:
- A forward-facing camera for (obstacle avoidance), tracking, and video recording
- Top-mounted control panel for accessing intelligent flight modes like QuickShots
- Bottom obstacle avoidance sensors for precise indoor hovering and landing
- LED battery status indicators and landing light
Remote Controller
The separate controller unit matches the drone’s white color scheme and includes:
- Dual joysticks for flight control
- Cinematic, Normal, and Sport fly modes
- Return to Home button
- Two (customizable) function buttons, likely for gimbal control and video recording / photo.
- Smartphone mount
- We expect the DJI Neo to feature the latest version of OcuSync
Accessories and Power
The Fly More Combo is expected to include three batteries and a multi-battery charging hub that doubles as a power bank.
Specs and Launch
While full specifications aren’t confirmed, earlier rumors suggest the Neo will weigh about 135 grams (4.8 ounces) and offer features like palm takeoff, AI tracking, and 4K video recording. The DJI Neo is anticipated to launch on August 20th, 2024.
DroneXL’s Take
Les DJI Neo looks poised to shake up the drone industry with its blend of portability, safety features, and smart capabilities. Its emphasis on ease of use could make it an attractive option for beginners, while more advanced pilots will appreciate the removable propeller guards and intelligent flight modes. As we’ve seen with DJI’s recent Mini 4 Pro, the company continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in compact drones. The Neo’s launch could further cement DJI’s position as a leader in consumer Technologie des drones.

After this drone is publicly for sale “leaks” will start coming for the Air 3S and after that is released the Mavic 4.
Would this drone be good enough for a professional real estate photographer/videographer looking to get into FPV fly through vids?
For professional real estate and FPV I’d pick the DJI Avata 2.
