Draganfly drones deliver emergency medical supplies in Ukrainian war zones
Draganfly drones are to deliver emergency medical supplies to parties in need in war-torn Ukraine.
Draganfly has received an order for the Company’s Medical Response and Rescue Drones from Coldchain Delivery Systems, LLC (Coldchain Delivery Systems) for immediate deployment with Revived Soldiers Ukraine (RSU).
“We are extremely honored to work with RSU and Coldchain Delivery Systems to support those affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Draganfly has a long and proud history of supporting EMS services and humanitarian aid operations globally. Our Medical Response and Search and Rescue Drones will help RSU deliver critical supplies, equipment, and visual oversight,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly.
Up to 200 Draganfly drones to deliver medical supplies
Draganfly will deliver a total of 10 North American-made medical response and search and rescue drones in the first batch. Draganfly will also give three drone systems to RSU as part of this initiative. The initial order quantity (subject to conditions) is up to 200 units.
The Order of Princess Olga was recently awarded to Iryna Vashchuk Discipio, RSU President, by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Women are recognized for their accomplishments in state, industrial, scientific, educational, cultural, charitable and other social activities with the Ukrainian civil decoration.
“Brave Ukrainians continue to fight for freedom, democracy, and the fundamental values and principles of Western civilization. There is an urgent need for medical supplies and equipment in several dangerous and hard-to-reach areas. Draganfly’s Medical Response and Search and Rescue Drones will play a crucial role in ensuring that those affected have access to the aid they require,” said Iryna Vashchuk Discipio, President of RSU.
Draganfly’s Medical Response and Search and Rescue Drones are made in North America to ensure the safety of a user’s data and the integrity of the Company’s hardware. An innovative temperature-controlled Medical Response Payload Box will be included on Draganfly’s Medical Response Drones.
Draganfly’s payload box can carry up to 35 pounds of medical supplies, including blood, pharmaceuticals, insulin/medicines, vaccines, water, and wound care kits. It is also top-mounted for safer and more convenient deliveries.
Coldchain Delivery Systems is a prominent supplier of time and temperature-sensitive medical products, having been established in 2006. The company has significant expertise in developing shipping systems, supplying thermal shippers, establishing shipping procedures, and managing pharmaceuticals, supplies, and emergency asset materials.
“The entire team at Coldchain Delivery Systems is focused on providing as much support as possible to the people of Ukraine during this incredibly difficult time,” said Wayne Williams, Founder and Executive Director of Coldchain Delivery Systems. “We look forward to working with Draganfly and RSU to ensure the timely delivery of temperature-sensitive medical supplies including blood, medicine, and vaccines to those in need. We are confident that Draganfly’s specialized Search and Rescue Drones combined with their Medical Response Drones will prove to be incredibly effective in this situation.”
RSU is a leading non-profit organization in Ukraine that was founded in 2015 and is dedicated to assisting Ukrainians. The group’s initiatives are concerned with the medical response and rehabilitation of injured soldiers. RSU recently acquired 10 ambulances and 11 automobiles to assist those harmed by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Now, Draganfly’s Medical Response Drones and Search and Rescue Drones will be utilized to enter hot spots in major Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv and Kharkiv, providing humanitarian aid. Furthermore, the organization has earmarked over US$19 million for food for Ukrainians trapped in their homes due to the conflict.
Over the last six years, RSU has constructed a logistical system in Ukraine and the United States to get essentials to people as quickly as possible. The organization has benefited from several medical facilities in the United States, including Yale, Cleveland Clinic, Metro Health, Mass General / Harvard, USC, Orlando Prosthetics & Orthotics Associates, Wills Eye Hospital, Brooks Rehabilitation Center, and Miami University.
RSU has more than 300 volunteers in the country and the United States, who have been trained to use sophisticated technology. The organization currently has ten full-time employees on the ground in Ukraine and is seeking to acquire more Draganfly drones to scale up its response.
