UK Defense Chief Hails Drone Impact

UK drones in have destroyed over $1.2 billion of Russian military equipment, according to Ukrainian estimates. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps praised the effectiveness of these drones at a recent defense forum in London. Since 2022, the UK has supplied over 4,000 drones to Ukraine, including various types designed for different combat roles.

4,000 Drones in the Fight

Future Drone Support

In March, the UK’s Ministry of Defence announced an additional delivery of 10,000 drones as part of a $413 million aid package. Both Ukraine and have heavily relied on drones, with Ukrainian drones destroying two-thirds of the Russian tanks lost in the conflict, damaging oil depots, and contributing to the loss of a third of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

UK’s Advancing Drone Warfare

Ukraine is establishing a dedicated branch for drone warfare, reflecting the pivotal role drones play in the conflict. The UK continues to support these efforts, with plans to accelerate the production of the DragonFire laser weapon and a new radio-wave weapon capable of neutralizing drone swarms at minimal cost.
