New DJI Mavic 3 top shell and bodywork photos
After our first discovery of a DJI Mavic 3 body shell photo, we didn’t expect to see any more pictures of the Mavic 3 until the summer. However, surprisingly, today these two pictures showed up on Chinese social media. Is the new Mavic 3 on the horizon? Or are we looking at what might become the DJI Mini 3? Let’s separate rumors from facts.
New DJI Mavic 3 top shell and bodywork photos
If this is the all-new DJI Mavic 3, doesn’t it have to be a little bit bigger? Yes and no. Although OsitaLV is confident it is probably the DJI Mini 3 coming up. This new photo perfectly fits the drawings and other pictures we received earlier from DJI insiders. The all-new design for the Mavic 3 will have a very long battery that will be loaded from the back, providing about 40 minutes of flight time.
The new leaked photo shows a darker tint of plastic. Are they using a new type of resin? It seems very slick, nothing like the grey we have seen on the Mini 2 dan DJI Air 2S. This could have been one of the first molds of the DJI factory, not yet perfected for production. We can’t possibly know, all we know we were right on the double air intakes on top ;).
A newly designed Mavic framework?
Below the all-new top cover, the Mavic 3 also gets a redesigned framework. This definitely isn’t the Mini 3. It is way too big for that. Just look at the new long battery compartment and the size of the screw holes. Compared to the second picture (we already showed you on the 20th) it is impossible to deny the same hexagons in the middle.
DJI is in Mavic 3 in production, but what will be the release date?
If we learned anything from previous DJI leaks, it is that they pop up very early before release. Even though there is a month between them. We still expect that a DJI Mavic 3 won’t be released before August or September at the earliest. We won’t even speculate on camera specs, as there is no proof yet for any claims. The only thing we know is that DJI will keep the ‘Mavic’ name and it has to be an awesome semi-professional drone to ‘stay in the game’ and ahead of the competition.

If the top cover is this one then there is no place for obstacle avoidance. Thats strange.
If they move it to the front arms like Skydio, it wouldn’t be there anymore.
When you look at the original top shell sketch (that matches the top shell photo too much to be a coincidence), you can see there’s a second top piece that covers the rear third of the battery (I assume this is where upwards OAS will be placed). This, with the rear of the battery, adds another 3-4cm to the total length. Include another 1cm for the front OAS panel, and the total length is much more consistent with a Mavic 3 than a Mini 3.
