DJI Mavic 4 Leak Hints at Professional-Grade Features, Including RTK Support
DJI enthusiasts are ‘buzzing with excitement’ as former DJI oracle OsitaLV shared potential specifications and features for the upcoming DJI Mavic 4 drone on X. The leak suggests that DJI’s next flagship consumer drone might blur the lines between professional and consumer segments.

Key Features Revealed
According to OsitaLV’s posts, the Mavic 4 may incorporate several notable enhancements:
- Simultaneous display of flight assist live image and map using the VIO camera
- RTK support for enhanced positioning accuracy
- Mavic 4 Cine Premium variant with 2TB on-board SSD
- Main camera featuring 14 stops of dynamic range
- Advanced dual controller system similar to the M30 series
- Triple-eye visual positioning system
- Optimized gimbal with -90° to +80° tilt range
Professional-Grade Capabilities
The inclusion of RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) support particularly stands out, as this feature has traditionally been reserved for DJI’s enterprise-focused drones. This high-precision positioning system could make the Mavic 4 an attractive option for professional surveyors and mapping specialists.
The impressive 14-stop dynamic range camera system suggests DJI is targeting professional cinematographers and content creators who demand superior image quality in challenging lighting conditions.
Storage and Control Innovations
The mention of a 2TB on-board SSD for the Cine Premium variant represents a significant storage upgrade for professional users who need to capture loads of high-resolution footage without frequent media changes. Although, DJI will hopefully have found a way to speed up data transfers so that your Mavic 4 can return to the skies sooner. The DJI Mavic 3 Cine with the 1TB internal storage took way too long as Philip Bloom pointed out here in this video.
DroneXL’s Take
The potential inclusion of RTK support in a Mavic series drone could represent a significant shift in DJI’s product strategy. While traditionally featured in enterprise models like the Matrice 300, bringing this technology to the Mavic line could democratize professional-grade capabilities. The advanced visual positioning system, coupled with the extended gimbal range, suggests DJI is focusing on inspection capabilities that were previously limited to their enterprise offerings.

Doesn’t matter. The DoD will make sure we don’t get it !!!
I feels like this was written by someone who has never flown a drone before. Never filled an SD in 1 battery so whats the issue with swapping in a new sd on your 5th or 6th battery swap because thats how many it would take to fill an SD card.
🍻
The article refers to the built-in SSD on the Cine model, which is designed for shooting in ProRes. ProRes is extremely high bitrate/bandwidth, and has to be captured to an SSD because the drone can’t write to an SD card fast enough to keep up with the bandwidth of ProRes capture. Since the SSD isn’t removable, you can’t just swap the SSD at battery changes, and because the files are huge, it would take far too long to copy at battery changes. So the SSD needs to be large enough for everything you’re going to film in a day.
Thank you!
I can’t imagine that the Mavic 4 Pro will have RTK. I bet that the leaks are getting crossed, and details of the Mavic 4 Pro (no RTK) and Mavic 4 Enterprise (with RTK) are both being leaked at the same time. Perhaps the release of the Pro and Enterprise are happening closer together, time-wise, because of DJI trying to get these products out the door before the ban in the United States.
Seems likely for sure.

Your comment reads as Donne who hasn’t flown a mavic 3 before. The SSD is built in and can’t be swapped so you have no choice but to offload when it’s full. 25 minutes of you’re offloading to a T7 ssd.
Zoom into the fake dji mavic logis on the arms in the headline pic lol 😆 😂 🤣
You have a sharp eye! 🍻
