Drone Delivery Canada introduces new drone with 12-mile range and 9 Lbs payload

Drone Delivery Canada, a Canadian business, has unveiled a new delivery drone with a flying range of 12 miles and a payload capacity of 9 Lbs. The aircraft, dubbed the Canary, features a novel engine arrangement, employs cutting-edge battery technology, can leave a charge without touch, and optionally includes an emergency parachute. A speaker on the drone can be used to announce its arrival.

Drone Delivery hopes that by allowing flights over densely populated regions, the new Canary delivery drone will enable new uses. The goal is to allow shops to do both B2B and B2C deliveries in urban and suburban locations. The Canary drone has a maximum range of 20 kilometers and a payload capacity of 4.5 kg.

The new drone has already undergone rigorous testing. The flight controller, communication with the FLYTE software system, communication with the smart battery system, the updated drive system, and numerous sensors were all checked and determined to be in working condition.

Drone Delivery Canada CEO Michael Zahra said: “Canary’s new functionality, particularly the integrated parachute, enables applications that are currently difficult to implement, such as over-human flights and urban and residential deliveries.”

In the interim, customers will continue to utilize the existing version of the Sparrow drone. This system will also be accessible for new clients to commission. Drone Delivery Canada also intends to construct and commercialize the previously announced Robin XL fixed-wing delivery drone, depending on market demand.
