DJI Mavic 4 Pro Specs Leaked in New Images: Flight Performance Claims “6x Better” Than Mavic 3 Pro

Newly leaked images from reliable drone insiders OsitaLV そして Jasper Ellens reveal the upcoming Pro alongside the DJI RC 2 controller, with claims from Chinese social media suggesting significantly improved flight performance compared to its predecessor.

Drone reviewers and DJI specialists such as ビリー・カイル have mentioned before how much better the flies than the Pro. It seems that we can expect the DJI Mavic 4 Pro to have dramatically improved flight characteristics compared to its predecessor.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro Details

The leaked photos show a more aerodynamic DJI Mavic 4 Pro with a streamlined body design, thinner arms, and a drastically redesigned gimbal and tri-camera system. The drone features two visible obstacle avoidance sensors on the topside of the main body and an LED beacon for night time operations.

What you cannot see in these newly leaked photos is the forward facing or Infrared obstacle avoidance sensor positioned in the front right arm, right below the props. The accompanying DJI RC 2 controller features a built-in display showing the drone interface with full flight telemetry.

DJI continues to dominate the prosumer drone market, with the Mavic series representing their flagship portable camera drones. The current Mavic 3 Pro, released in April 2023, features a triple-camera system with a 4/3 CMOS primary camera and has established itself as the benchmark for portable high-end drones.

Performance Claims

The most striking claim in the leaked images comes from a caption stating the Mavic 4 Pro “flies 6 times better” than the Mavic 3 Pro. While this vague metric requires verification, it suggests DJI may have made significant advancements in flight stability, agility, maneuverability, or wind resistance. Current Mavic 3 Pro specifications include a maximum flight time of 43 minutes and top speed of 47 mph (75.6 km/h).

Note, that part of the DJI RC 2 display has been redacted as well as information on the side of the drone in the same photo, indicating that these images were purposely leaked by either DJI or one of its testers or reviewers.

Future Outlook

If previous release patterns hold, we could expect the official announcement of the Mavic 4 Pro within the coming weeks. DJI typically refreshes its flagship Mavic line roughly every 36 months, with the Mavic 3 line having been released in November 2021 and the Mavic 3 Pro variant in April 2023.

The improvements in aerodynamics and claims of significantly enhanced flight performance suggest DJI is focusing on extending flight times and improving overall stability rather than making dramatic changes to the camera system, which already offers professional-level capabilities in the current model.

We’ll continue monitoring for additional leaks that might reveal complete flight specifications, including precise flight time, range, and camera details. So stay tuned for more!

  1. I believe the latest Air drone has some other features that the mavic 3 pro lacks, for example it has a little longer range and it has some special processing it does for low light images… Surely some other things I’m forgetting.
The advantage of the current drones is that you can still get them from retailers without the tariff because they bought them before the tariff.

  2. 3 pro flies really well. The lidar is intriguing. If this thing can fly thru a forest with some speed and not hit anything it will be pretty tempting to upgrade.

  3. is it just me or does the gimbal look like it can slide back into the two arms holding it…. curious if this would allow us to not need a gimbal protector, flip the camera around and slide into the body of the drone would be sick. wishful thinking…
