DJI Neo Gets Major Speed Boost: Firmware Update Doubles Tracking Performance
DJI has rolled out a significant Firmware bijwerken for the DJI Neo drone, introducing compatibility with new hardware and several feature enhancements aimed at improving the overall flying experience. The update, released on November 6, 2024, brings the Neo firmware to version V01.00.0400.
The latest update introduces support for DJI Goggles N3, expanding the Neo’s compatibility with DJI’s First Person View (FPV) ecosystem. Users of both the N3 and Goggles 3 will benefit from added liveview stabilization, providing a smoother viewing experience during flight.
One of the most notable additions is vertical shooting capability, allowing pilots to capture content in portrait orientation – a feature increasingly important for social media content creators. Users can select their preferred aspect ratio directly in the resolution settings.
The update also enhances the mobile app control experience with new features:
- Full-screen manual control support
- Control stick mode switching in settings
- Audio recording capability when using RC-N3 or RC-N2 controllers
- Adjustable noise reduction for more natural ambient sound recording
DJI has also optimized the drone’s positioning performance and increased flight speed during tracking operations, suggesting improved reliability for autonomous flight modes.
Installation Notes
Users should be aware that the update requires a complete restart of all hardware components after installation. Additionally, flight parameters such as Return-to-Home altitude and maximum flight distance will be reset to default values during the update process.
Firmware Versions
The comprehensive update includes new firmware for multiple components:
- DJI Neo: V01.00.0400
- DJI RC-N3 Controller: V01.03.0200
