DJI FPV drone photo surfaces on OsitaLV’s Twitter account
Today, another DJI FPV drone photo surfaces on OsitaLV’s Twitter account This time we get to see a bit more of this eagerly awaited first-person-view quadcopter from the world’s largest drone maker.

Unfortunately, the resolution of this photo, that was shared on Twitter by OsitaLV, isn’t great either, but we get to see a bit more of this new DJI FPV drone.
DJI FPV drone features a forward-leaning design
Right away you will notice that this is a completely different design from the DJI drones that we are used to seeing. FPV race drones are designed so that they ‘lean forward’ as they fly at high speeds. You can see that same forward-leaning design in this photo, as the DJI FPV Drone is resting on its battery (or battery housing) and two front legs. This also seems to match with the photo we saw some time ago.
The design and construction seem very sturdy on the new DJI FPV drone, which makes sense as these quads tend to be crashed by their operators quite a bit.
DJI FPV drone’s battery is easy to swap out
Looking closer at the back end of the drone it seems that the battery would be easy and quick to swap out, which is needed because FPV style drones have much shorter flight times than your average DJI Mavic 2 or Mavic Air 2.
The original photo that we shared earlier seems to show the backend of the DJI FPV drone with the battery and/or battery housing visible. Initially, we believed this to be the camera, but looking closer at the image you can see the leg underneath the propeller in the top left of the photo. This seems to match with the latest photo thus indicating that the front of the drone is facing away from us.
Only one camera on the DJI FPV drone?
Furthermore, we expect the DJI FPV drone to offer a single camera that will be used to provide the first-person-view and allow for recording the video footage at the same time. No need to mount an additional GoPro Hero 9 or DJI Osmo Action. The patent drawings that we have seen earlier seem to confirm this.
Will the DJI FPV drone be a hardcore FPV racer? No, we don’t think that it will be. We suspect that this drone will be more geared to people who are interested in the FPV flying style, but who don’t want to build and solder their own drone from scratch. More like a gateway drug if you will.
Since we will have to wait some time for the arrival of the DJI Mavic 3, we are actually quite excited about the DJI FPV drone and hope that it won’t be long before we try one out for ourselves!
