In Canada, police were able to find a missing man from West Lethbridge, roughly one hundred miles south of Calgary, with the help of a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise drone. The report came in about 8:15 PM on Wednesday saying that the man had last been seen in a field near a home.

The police were concerned for his safety as the man was not dressed for below-freezing temperatures, reports CTV News.

“Police determined their search for the missing person would benefit from the use of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), commonly knowns as drones,” read a release.

“Despite challenges presented by cool temperatures, wind and obstacles including power lines and an electrical substation in the area, the police pilot was able to locate the man with the aid of the drone’s infrared camera.”

The police department in Lethbridge has had three drones in use since 2015.
