Drone photos show extend of oil spill after boats sinks

Drone photos from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) show the extent of an oil spill after a boat had sunk in the Glasson Dock Marina. A large cleanup operation is now underway to contain the spill and remove the oil from the water. #dronesforgood

Drone photos show the extend of oil spill

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service received a call to help stop a leak from a fishing vessel that was sinking in Glasson Dock Marina. A boom is used as a 490-feet temporary floating barrier to help contain the oil and mitigate the environmental impact. Other agencies were involved in the containment and cleanup operation as well, said the BBC.

The extent of the oil spill is clearly shown from the air by Drone Photos and video from LFRS. The spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service had said that after the spill was contained the cleanup operation was passed to Lancaster city council. Residents were informed that they do not need to keep windows and doors closed.
