The St. Cloud Polícia used a drone and K9 to locate a man who is suspected of stealing a van. Waite Park officers learned of the stolen vehicle on August 3rd.

According to a Monday press release from the St. Cloud Police Department, Waite Park officers learned of the stolen vehicle on August 3rd.

The van was found in St. Cloud on Saturday with four men inside, reports SC Times. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of an apartment building on Stearns County Road 74.

“Officers approached the vehicle and the driver fled, running into a wooded area,” according to the release. “Responding officers set up a perimeter and used a Police K9 and a drone to attempt to locate the suspect.

The man who fled the scene was apprehended in the 2500 block of 41st Avenue South and booked in the Stearns County Jail. The suspect is 24-year-old Sahal Abdi Hassan. The other three men in the van were released at the scene.

According to the jail log Hassan, of St. Cloud was arrested around 11 am on Saturday and was still in jail on Monday morning for potential charges of possessing stolen property and fleeing officers on foot.
