BREAKING: DJI MINI 5 leaked again! Spotted on the streets in China

O DJI Mini 5 spotted on the streets in China! I can tell you all about the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, and will in the next days. But I am so much more excited to show you this new brand new image from the DJI Mini 5. This new image proves the little drone is undergoing testing and will arrive very soon (Summer 2025). Lets dive in:

This all started 5 month ago…

A few months ago we got this very first image of the DJI Mini 5, and I was very excited to share it with all of you. We could immediately see the Mini 4 would receive extra ‘eyes’ on the body, implicating the DJI Mini series will get LiDAR in the future. Meanwhile, I also noticed the motors on the arms were a bit larger than the DJI Mini 4 Pro, what could proof the Mini series received a complete overhaul to create the ultimate DJI Mini 5 Pro.

A lot of you dreamed of this day. A DJI Mini 4 drone, but with a bigger camera. LiDAR, and some heavy duty motors. But the question immediately rises: Did DJI manage to keep it below 250 grams. Or will this be the first Mini above 249 grams?

Staring at the camera on this new photo, it almost seems to be an even bigger camera than the first leaked image of the DJI Mini 5. Are we looking at the finished product here, or is this one of the many prototypes DJI takes to the park around their building. Just like we have seen with the first images of the DJI Flip?

The only thing that surprises me in this picture is the fact the DJI Mini 5 here has propellor guards. Is this because its in early testing phase and its bound to take a nose dive? Or will this be more like the Flip and have prop guards (for safety) right out of the box? (Lets hope not!)

What will be the DJI Mini 5 release date?

As you know, at the moment our timelines are filled with one thing only, and that the release of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro in coming weeks. Product pictures, video’s, specifications… If you are waiting on the Mavic 4 Pro, you can eat your heart out in the coming days because it won’t take three weeks before its release. But on the DJI Mini 5: The dates are set for an August or September 2025 release. So please have a little patience, and know that there is something amazing on the horizon!
