Ukraine Turbocharges Defence with Drone Service Center

In an effort to strengthen its defense capabilities, Украина has made a significant move by joining hands with Turkish company Baykar Makina. They signed an agreement to establish a service center dedicated to drone repair and maintenance, announced the Украина Defense Ministry on Monday.
This initiative is part of Ukraine’s mission to establish an “Army of Drones” to resist Russian forces that invaded the country in February 2022. The State Secretary of the ministry, Kostiantyn Vashchenko, emphasized the importance of this new partnership.
He сказал to the Turkish associates, “The creation of a service center will be a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and will help bring our victory closer.”
This progress comes in the wake of the remarkable surge in domestic drone production in Ukraine. Last week, Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that over 10,000 drone operators have been trained with an equal number still undergoing training.
Moreover, Baykar Makina has already started the construction of a plant in Ukraine for manufacturing Bayraktar drones, as reported by Ukrainian media earlier this month, confirming the words of Ukraine’s Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
With the ongoing war, drones have become a critical asset for both Ukrainian and Russian forces for reconnaissance and assault operations.

The word “drone” or “UAS” is too generic and people are confused. Even your picture on this article is not the best image to represent Baykar “drones” used in UKR/RUS conflict.
However, Baykar Makina build “UAS”, so flying aircraft without on-board pilot or litterally Unmanned Aerial System, but these are more similar to small planes than usual common drones like DJI, Autel,…
Those “drones” have +150Kms/100Miles transmission range, speed is quite much higher, and can transport a lot of weight, nothing really related to “drones” as we daily know and use, just the fact that these big apparels are piloted remotely. Some models are electrically powered and others with thermical engines.
Agreed. Drones is a very generic term indeed. There are many variations and use-cases. Thank you for your comment.
