Federal authorities have found no evidence that the recently reported drone sightings in New Jersey pose any national security threat or have connections to foreign actors. In a joint statement, the FBI and İç Güvenlik Bakanlığı (DHS) revealed that many of the reported sightings likely involve misidentified manned aircraft operating legally in the area.

Investigation Ongoing with Multiple Detection Methods

The FBI, DHS, and other federal partners are working closely with the New Jersey State Polis to investigate the situation, deploying various drone detection technologies and personnel. However, their electronic detection systems have yet to corroborate any of the visual drone sighting reports. Instead, analysis of available imagery suggests that many of the reported unmanned aircraft system (UAS) sightings are actually authorized manned aircraft.
