Drone deployed in search and rescue of missing hiker at Colorado National Monument
A drone has been deployed in the Пошук і порятунок mission that continued on Friday for a missing hiker at the Колорадо National Monument. Jim Fuchs, 66, of Grand Junction, Colorado had started the hike on Monday this week, but friends had contacted park officials on Thursday after they were unable to reach Fuchs. #dronesforgood

Fuchs’ car was found at the Lower Serpents Trail parking lot just inside the east entrance of the National Park. A licensed оператор безпілотника deployed a drone to assist the search crews from the National Park Service, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office and Mesa County Search and Rescue Ground Team.
The deployed drone is equipped with a thermal imaging camera, although the exact make and model is unknown at this point.
The search was continued on Friday morning by more than a dozen volunteers, combing through the miles of nearby canyons, supported from the air by the drone that had been deployed.
Fuchs is described as being 5-foot-11 and weighing 175 pounds. It is not known what he was wearing, according to the National Parks Traveler. Anyone who might have seen Fuchs over the last few days is urged to call monument staff at 970-250-0805.
Fuchs is still missing as of publishing this article on Saturday.
