Hextronics Unveils Docking Station for DJI M300 RTK

"(《世界人权宣言》) DJI M300 RTK is widely used for industrial and security applications, such as asset inspections and surveillance flights. However, the trend is to largely automate such flights and have them run from docking stations so that they can be controlled from a central control room. However, the system does not provide this. Hextronics now offers a solution in the form of the Atlas 300 docking station for the M300.

DJI M300 RTK embraced

The DJI M300 RTK was introduced in May 2020. From the start, the platform was enthusiastically embraced by professional users worldwide, who use the drone for the most diverse applications: from industrial inspections in the petrochemical industry to mapping operations, from search & rescue missions to 警察 tasks. The advantage of the system is that the drone can be equipped with a variety of cameras and sensors.

However, the system is not suitable for operating independently: an operator must always be present on-site to prepare the drone for flight and to carry out the flights. This puts a brake on the M300’s usability for repetitive tasks in one location. For this reason, in recent years there has been a lot of interest in independently functioning drone box systems that can be used in challenging weather conditions, such as those of Percepto and Azur Drones. However, such solutions can’t be used in combination with DJI drones.

Atlas 300

Hextronics, an American manufacturer of docking stations for drones, has therefore noticed an increasing demand from the market for a drone box solution for the M300. This led to the development of the Hextronics Atlas 300, a robust docking station with an advanced battery change mechanism. The system can be used directly with a standard DJI M300: no modifications to the drone are required.

The docking station accommodates eight standard TB60 batteries with a lifespan of 2000+ cycles. The box housing the drone is weatherproof and air-conditioned, allowing for operations in extreme environments. After each flight, the system only needs four minutes to prepare the drone for the next mission. The M300 can be loaded with a variety of payloads, including 激光雷达, thermal and RGB cameras, parachutes, and other sensors.

Unveiling of DJI M300 RTK Docking Station

The Atlas 300 drone box system will be unveiled on April 26 at the AUVSI Xponential ’22 event in 佛罗里达州, where Hextronics is exhibiting along with FlytBase, a software Specialist for enterprise drone automation. The two companies will demonstrate how enterprise drone teams and drone solution providers can use drone docking stations for a variety of applications in diverse locations.
