New DJI Goggles Integra & DJI Motion 2 – Latest Leaks and DJI Rumors

This is just an update video to some videos I made a couple of months ago about 大疆创新传闻 regarding something like the 大疆迷你 3 or the 大疆创新 Mavic 3 becoming compatible with the DJI Goggles 2. Now, there’s no new information that has come out about that particular aspect; however, some new interesting leaks came out yesterday on Twitter. So, we’re going to take a look at them and discuss what they could mean.

DJI Rumors are speculative, but interesting

Now, a couple of disclaimers before I get started here. First of all, anything I’m going to be discussing, or we’ll be discussing, is purely speculative. It’s all rumor-based; there’s nothing official from DJI. So, don’t make any purchasing decisions based on these rumors. I know not everybody likes rumors and leaks; myself, I find them interesting, and I like to discuss them, so that’s what we’re going to do in this video.

The second thing is, I cannot take credit for anything in this video. Most of the time, when we get these leaks, it’s from the same people on Twitter: Jasper Ellens, OsitaLV和 DealsDrone. They’re the ones who put the work in and find this information and share it.

So, I highly recommend, if you like to find this stuff early, go and follow them on Twitter. They do a lot of hard work, and you know, they bring all this information to us. As mentioned in this video, we’re just going to discuss it and see what potentially it all means.

So, to start out, several months ago, we got this screenshot from the goggles showing the Mavic 3 和 迷你 3 Pro. So that leads some to believe that we might be getting compatibility of the Goggles 2 with things like the 大疆创新 Mavic 3 和 大疆迷你 3 Pro.

DJI Goggles Integra

Now, this is something that we’ve seen before when the DJI Air 2S was first released. We got similar screenshots showing the Air 2S in there, but that never came to fruition. I think it was just internal testing, and that’s all this could be as well. DJI may never plan on bringing compatibility to the goggles. I really hope that’s not the case.

So, getting back to what’s new here, several months ago, we got some DJI Rumors that there’s going to be some new DJI goggles and a new motion controller. The rumor was that it was going to be called the Goggles Light, but as you can see here, we have a picture of the new goggles, and they’re called the Goggles Integra.

And there are quite a few differences to it. First of all, you can see we have what appears to be a battery built into the back there, so that’s very similar to the original DJI Goggles. If you recall them, they had the battery built into the headband, so it kind of appears that that’s what that is there.

I’m not sure how I feel about that quite yet. Of course, it’s nice to have it all integrated, as you can see here. I bought a clip to have the battery mounted on the back just to keep it all nicely organized, so in that aspect, it is nice. But the other problem that could be is I have a second battery because sometimes if I’m out flying a lot in a day, I can burn through a whole battery.

So that’s the only other issue; if this battery isn’t any bigger, then perhaps that could be a problem. And again, this is purely speculative, but maybe perhaps there’s some extra equipment in there to do with Remote ID. We all know with the latest update for the 大疆创新, you now have to have a phone plugged into it to get GPS. So perhaps that can alleviate that problem. That would be nice if DJI did come up with a solution for that.

The other thing that’s kind of interesting at the top here is you can see we have these two buckles, so it looks like there’s going to be an additional strap you can put over the top of the head if you so choose. Some other differences at the side here: you can see that’s no longer there, and we don’t have the memory card and the headphone jack right underneath there. You can see there’s nothing there.

I don’t know if it’s been moved over to the other side; you can see there is something there, it looks like the USB-C port, and perhaps something that’s really blurry, but it looks like there might be something underneath there. So hopefully they didn’t remove the memory card support; maybe perhaps they’ve just moved it.

Now, if you take a look at this picture here, this was shared by Jasper Ellens yesterday. You can see it’s a new 大疆创新 kit. The Avata is still the same, but it does include the new goggles. And what’s interesting is you can see here it comes with a whole array of lenses. The other thing you’ll notice is that there is no battery here, so that just kind of points out the fact that that is indeed a battery.

At the bottom here, you can see we have this extra piece that does look to be like a strap, so if you do want to install it at the top. Now, the other interesting thing is that we knew we were getting a new motion controller, and you can see here’s a picture of it.

There’s the box, and it states “RC Motion 2,” so they got rid of the “controller” word, and it’s now just called “RC Motion 2.” There are some subtle changes to it. First of all, this tilt button here has now been changed to a dial, and the other thing is that we now have a joystick where this brake button was.

So that’ll be kind of interesting – what that will be used for. Can we control the drone with that joystick, or is it just merely for going through settings in the menu? Unfortunately, we don’t have a picture of the other side of it to see what perhaps is over there.

The other interesting thing here is you can see that the trigger has been redesigned. We have this new front piece now, so that signifies that we’re going to be able to go in reverse now. With the original motion controller, we could just press in for acceleration, but with that other piece there, that allows us to go backwards and fly the drone backwards.

So maybe, perhaps that’s to do because part of the rumor was that we might be able to fly the 大疆迷你 3 with the motion controller as well, so perhaps that’s why they wanted to update it to allow all movements of the drone.

Now, when this new gear will be available, it’s not really clear yet. Jasper Ellens stated that it’s going to be soon according to his information, so we could potentially see it as early as next week or perhaps a couple of weeks down the road. But it will be interesting, and I’m really hoping with the launch of this new gear that they will be adding compatibility to the 大疆创新 Mavic 3 和 大疆迷你 3 for the goggles.
