FAA Greenlights Guardian Agriculture’s Drone System for Nationwide Use
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted Guardian Agriculture the go-ahead to operate its drone system throughout the country. This milestone makes Guardian Agriculture the first Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) commercial entity authorized to function in the U.S., enabling the company to safely deploy its drones on a national scale.
According to Adam Bercu, Guardian Agriculture's Founder and CEO, “FAA approval represents an important turning point for American leadership in this fast-growing market.”
In the agricultural sector, commercial farmers are increasingly abandoning traditional ground spraying equipment in favor of unmanned autonomous systems. However, most of the currently available options are too small to offer cost-effective full-field coverage for large-scale agriculture. Guardian Agriculture's SC1 platform stands out as the only autonomous, electric, aerial crop protection system specifically designed for extensive farming operations. Boasting over $100 million in customer orders already, the SC1 platform is set to make a significant impact.
The company will kick off its commercial operations by supporting its Wilbur-Ellis customer in California in the upcoming months, while simultaneously expanding its production capacity.
