Giles Dalby, a 39-year-old photographer, faced Legal repercussions after his drone nearly collided with DJ Fatboy Slim during a performance. Dalby, attempting to capture aerial footage, lost control of the drone, causing it to crash on stage.
Court Proceedings Reveal Carelessness
At Brighton Magistrates Court, Dalby was charged for the careless operation of the drone, endangering both the DJ and the audience of 8,500.
The prosecutor highlighted ignored warnings in the drone’s flight data, while Dalby expressed remorse, reportedly citing confusion with the controls.
The Verdict and Penalty
Acknowledging Dalby’s clean record and guilty plea, the court fined him £576, with additional costs and a victim surcharge, totaling £891.
