When the was first announced, many drone pilots got really excited as the specs were simply out of this world. Autel will be making three versions of the EVO II available, the EVO II with 8K video, the EVO II Pro with 6K from a 1-inch sensor and the EVO II Dual with the 8K and thermal sensors combined.

will start with the launch of the EVO II 8K version and we have been informed that the other two models will follow four to six weeks later. All three models should be available before this summer.

Back in February, I had the EVO II 8K to test out for about a week or so and I have to say I was very impressed with the drone. The video quality is really good, as is the dynamic range. And the obstacle avoidance is very good as well. It saved me when the drone came flying back home a little hot flying downwind in 25 mph breeze. So, kudos to Autel for making that work so well.

The only issue I had was with the connectivity. As I flew the drone further out, I would lose the video signal at times but not the control of the unmanned aircraft. I know that since than Autel Robotics fixed a number of issues and improved the drone thru software and firmware upgrades, and I assume the connectivity was one of the things that were addressed. I’m looking forward to flying the EVO II again soon.
