DJI Zenmuse X7 ground-based camera shows in leaked photos

Another day, another DJI leak! Today we can share with you these leaked photos that show what appears to be a new ground-based camera. Let's take a closer look.

DJI Zenmuse X7 ground-based camera shows in leaked photos

These four photos were leaked from our familiar source OsitaLV. Who wrote the following in a tweet earlier today.

“Something new from DJI, looks like they've got a new design for X7 ground shooting device. But the gimbal port has changed, it means the future Inspire will not compatible with X5s & X7 we have. The new port should provide with more bandwidth.”

The DJI Zenmuse X7 Super 35 camera and four prime lenses for the DJI Inspire drones were first launched in October of 2017. Some people have argued that the Zenmuse X7 lineup is due for a refresh as camera and lens technology has moved on since the launch. Might this new ground-based camera be the first step in that process? Possibly. However, at the moment we do not have any firm information that points in that direction.

Let's take a closer look at all four leaked images showing this new DJI X7 ground-based camera.

Apart from ositaLV's description, there is not a whole lot to go with when looking at these photos. The gimbal port is different from the previous versions meaning that it will not be backward compatible with the existing DJI Zenmuse X7, X5S, and X4S.

Also, check out that red dot. I don't know about you but to me, it seems that was photoshopped. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

The leaked photos of the DJI Zenmuse X7 ground-based camera shows a carbon fiber Z-Axis swing arm, similar to the one that was used on the handheld camera back in 2017 to reduce vertical shaking from natural arm movements when walking or jogging.

Furthermore, the two heatsinks point to some serious processing capabilities. the rubber flaps covering many of the connection ports might indicate that the DJI Zenmuse X7 ground-based camera has some level of waterproofing or resistance.

The leaked photos of the DJI Zenmuse X7 ground-based camera also show various mounting options so that the device can be used with sliders, tripods, etc.
