Duality – Scenic drone video that can be viewed upside down

Recently, announced the winners of the 6th Aerial Photo & Video Contest. The big winner was Ellis from Jason with his FPV from Madeira. This week we show the video of another award winner, the scenic drone video Duality from the Swiss media company Elastic Studio. The makers spent quite a few hours on editing, especially on creatively combining images.

Duality – Scenic drone video that can also be viewed upside down

In Duality, each fragment consists of two separate drone shots, in which one of the shots is displayed in reverse. That results in an alienating drone video, which is somewhat reminiscent of the movie Inception. The funny thing is that there is no longer any “top or bottom”, so you can also watch the video upside down.

The video was made by Craig Murley of the Swiss media company Elastic Studio.

“Enjoy a strange and picturesque experiment that works upside down or straight up. Both versions give a different feeling. Just rotate your device to see the alternate version. Each scene consists of only 2 shots. No extra clouds or sky added. I was lucky some days in the mountains to have clouds beneath me.”

Awarded worldwide

The recordings were made using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro. In addition to the first prize at SkyPixel, the video was also awarded at various other drone film festivals, including AZDroneFest 2020 and the Southern Drone Film Festival.
