Logan Paul’s Drone-Captured Frog Splash Shocks WWE Fans

A Year in the Making
Logan Paul, WWE’s U.S. Champion and social media influencer, delivered a jaw-dropping moment at the King and Queen of the Ring event. His daring frog splash from the top rope onto Cody Rhodes, caught by a first-person view (FPV) drone, is set to become one of WWE’s most iconic images, according to Cage Side Seats.
A Dream Realized
Paul took to social media after the match, sharing his excitement about the moment. “I’ve been dreaming of that shot for a year,” he tweeted, accompanied by a screenshot of a text conversation with Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s head of creative. The messages, dated May 10, 2023, reveal Paul’s long-standing ambition to use Drone Technology to capture his high-flying moves in a way never before seen in WWE.
“Hey boss, wanted to run this idea y’all as we approach our next two PLEs… I pitched this for Wrestlemania but apparently had some venue issues,” Paul’s text read. “I think there’s a crazy cool opportunity to hire an FPV drone flyer like in this video to capture a high-flying jump(s) of mine through the table or any crazy stunt, just another cool way to capture a frog splash that has never been done before. Creatively pushing media boundaries.”
The Stunning Moment
During the match in Saudi Arabia, Paul delivered a powerful punch to Rhodes, seemingly knocking him out. Taking advantage of the situation, Paul placed Rhodes on the announcers’ table. As Paul climbed the ropes, an FPV drone captured the entire scene, providing a breathtaking 360-degree view of his leap. The dramatic footage showed Paul’s crushing frog splash, almost obliterating Rhodes.
WWE’s New Era
Paul’s innovative stunt highlights WWE’s new leadership under Triple H. The departure of longtime production head Kevin Dunn has paved the way for a fresh approach to WWE’s presentation. Under Dunn, many fans felt the production style was more of a distraction than an enhancement.
With Triple H at the helm, WWE is embracing new technology and creative ideas, enhancing the viewing experience. The cinematic capture of Paul’s leap is just the beginning of this exciting new era.
DroneXL’s Take
Logan Paul’s drone-captured frog splash is a testament to the power of innovation in sports entertainment. By integrating FPV drone technology, WWE has pushed the boundaries of how wrestling can be filmed and experienced. This move not only elevates the spectacle of WWE events but also sets a new standard for live sports production. Expect more thrilling and visually stunning moments as WWE continues to explore the potential of drone technology in their broadcasts.
