A day before its official rumored launch, the DJI Air 3S has been leaked by Roland Quandt, revealing significant upgrades, confirming specs that were leaked before and Euro pricing details. The new drone boasts improved cameras and expanded storage, promising to shake up the mid-range drone market.

Dual Camera Upgrade

The Air 3S comes with a dual-camera setup, both seeing notable improvements:

  1. Main Camera: Now features a 1-inch sensor with 48 megapixels and an f/1.8 aperture. It’s equivalent to a 24mm focal length.
  2. Zoom Camera: Upgraded to a 1/1.3″ sensor with 50 megapixels and an f/2.8 aperture, equivalent to a 70mm focal length.

These upgrades should provide better image quality and more versatile shooting options for drone enthusiasts and professionals alike.

DroneXL’s Take

This leak of the DJI Air 3S shows DJI’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of consumer drone technology. The upgraded cameras, especially the new 1-inch main sensor, put this drone in line with more professional models. This continues the trend we’ve seen in drone technology of packing more advanced features into smaller, more affordable packages.

The increased internal storage is a particularly welcome addition, addressing a common pain point for many drone users. It’s clear that DJI is listening to user feedback and making meaningful improvements.

As we await the official announcement, it’ll be interesting to see how these upgrades translate to real-world performance. Will the Air 3S bridge the gap between consumer and prosumer drones? Let us know your thoughts on this exciting new drone in the comments below.
