DJI Matrice 400A hits the FCC database

DJI’s upcoming Matrice 400A enterprise drone has hit the FCC, suggesting a release is coming sooner than first expected.

This news comes hours after we reported on the Matrice 400 RC’s sub2G SDR module appeared on the database. Around a week ago, we also got a glimpse of the M400A when it was captured sitting in an office folded with an uknown payload hanging from it.

DJI Matrice 400 at the FCC

Taking a look at the information given to the FCC, we get an image of the regulatory label and the location it will be placed. From the label we can confirm it is the A variant of the Matrice 400, and it will indeed feature a battery with 977Whs, which we got a first look at in January of this year.

Taking a look at the attached image, it looks to be showing raw machined metal, likely the battery bay, but not much info can be taken from this image.

It’s important to note that the leak in January appears to be from the same document as they it is identical to this new one that has shown up at the FCC. Likely meaning the original leak was before FCC finalisation, possibly when the documents were being filed.

DJI Matrice 400A release date

When DJI products hit the FCC’s public database it usually means a release within the next two months, suggesting we could see the M400A released as soon as April, counting March as we are still early into the month.

The sort of timeframe is also confirmed by the listing of the SDR module mentioned above, which makes it seem that DJI will now go into international testing before it launches its highly anticipated enterprise drone to the public.

Are you excited to see the Matrice 400 launch and be a likely replacement for the Matrice 600? How much weight do you think it should be able to fly with?
