Batteries are a peculiar species in the drone ecosystem. They are inanimate objects, yet they possess a life force within. Like dogs and printers, they can smell fear emanating from your very soul. But here’s the twist: they hold a supernatural advantage over us mere mortals.

If they really want to mess with your day, they can suddenly increase gravity’s pull on our beloved birds, sending them plummeting earthward faster than you can click “buy” on any drone listed on the DJI Refurbished page. It’s like they have a secret pact with Newton himself.

Our batteries deserve the same reverence we show our drones—if not more. They are the beating heart of our flying machines, the pulse that keeps our creative visions airborne. Battery care isn’t simply a cycle of charge, use, recharge, and repeat.

If you thoughtlessly yank a battery from your drone and immediately plug it into the charger like some kind of energy vampire, my friend, you’re slowly committing battery homicide.

Trust me, you don’t want that battery giving up during that once-in-a-lifetime wedding shot that’s physically impossible to recreate. Anyway, a fat battery won’t fit properly into your drone’s battery compartment (just like your fat cousin didn’t fit well into her pants) and could simply fall out during a flight.
