The DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro are the generation that made the sub-250g Mini the default first drone, and being superseded is exactly what makes them interesting now: the capability did not change, and the price did.
That is the practical case. The Mini 3 stays under 250 grams — the line that decides what the FAA asks of a recreational pilot — and it has become, as we put it, the perfect first drone on sale. The Pro adds the obstacle sensing and camera capability. If you plan to fly in tighter places or want the better sensor, the Pro earns its premium; for open-space flying and learning, the standard Mini 3 is enough drone.
