Surprise! DJI actually managed to keep the DJI Neo 2 a secret until yesterday but today Russian leaker Igor Bogdanov managed to get his hands on some very interesting Neo 2 images and some first specifications. Credit where credit is due; Igor found this way quicker then I did, so I will show his pictures here. On top of that I will add some interesting DJI Neo 2 prices from my own sources.

Well, that escalated quickly!

Normally DJI testers receive a unit in advance, but this time DJI took no risk whatsoever and decided to just hit us with a very early DJI Neo 2 teaser. No tester has a unit in their possession and it seems that DJI is not waiting for November for this drone. Could this be DJI’s last FCC filed drone that will sell in the United States?

The DJI Neo 2 is on steroids.

Did you wish for an updated and improved DJI Neo? Then this beast wont let you down on many levels. It has all the old functions but updated:

  • New and improved camera, 2 axis, with possibly the same sensor as the DJI Mini 5.
  • Not only AI tracking but added infrared lidar sensors to improve safety and tracking.
  • Improved propellors that have a more silent prop design.
  • Upgraded battery (15% more) 19 minutes of flight. New design on top.
  • Upwards / backwards camera for saver flight and smart returns.
  • Added transceiver for wider application and uses on different connections.

Compatibility of the DJI Neo 2

Good news for currents DJI Neo flyers: The new Neo seems to be compatible with the DJI Goggles N3 that came with the previous Motion Fly More Combo. If you already own a lot of DJI products it’s possible to buy ‘cheaper’ combo and give your old beaten Neo to a friend who can control it with their phone.

On that topic: the funny new DJI Neo 2 Transceiver on the back of this drone allegedly created the necessarily Ocusync connection so you can use it with existing DJI remotes. Without, you can only fly this drone via short distance Wifi connection.

DJI Neo 2 price increase:

Although a lot of pricing is floating around on the internet. I am not going to repeat those combo price lists here. I expect the combo prices to be roughly the same as the current Neo. For your information: I think the official Neo 2 pricing is only ‘verified’ if we can see a webshop link with those actual prices. Like these official Australian prices I will display beneath:

Release date DJI Neo 2 is October 30th.

Without a doubt DJI will announce this DJI Neo 2 next week on October 30th 2025. It will possibly be the last DJI drone that received FCC markings under the current administration. But without a worldwide teaser we still don’t know if you will be able to purchase it in the United States.
