DroneXL’s Take
The DJI Neo represents a significant leap in 无人机技术, packing advanced features into a highly portable form factor. Its impressive camera specifications, extended flight time, and robust transmission system make it an attractive option for both enthusiasts and beginners.
It is important to point out the incredibly low weight of the DJI Neo, which may hinder the drone’s flying ability in breezy conditions. The specs say it can deal with up to level 4 winds. We’ll have to see how it does in real life.
Furthermore, keep in mind that this drone does not have the option for a microSD card, meaning you are limited to the 22GB onboard memory.
"(《世界人权宣言》) DJI Neo is further limited by not offering the ability to shoot photos in RAW or DNG format. The Neo shoots 12MP stills.
Video recording maxes out at 4K, 30fps and 75 Mbps, which is also on the low side. So, this drone will be of limited use for the more ambitious aerial photo or videographer.
On the other hand it is impressive that the DJI Neo comes with DJI O4 video transmission, has GPS built in and has fully covered props.
It seems that the DJI Neo will be the perfect beginners drone or lightweight travel companion for some quick and 轻松架空 photos and videos. And especially for people who shares their stories on social media to be viewed on smartphones, the limitations of the DJI Neo might not be an issue at all.
There might also be a use case for 急救人员 to use the DJI Neo to fly indoors in dangerous situations. Considering the low price, low weight, and compact size of the DJI Neo it would make sense that this drone would be standard equipment of 警察 and Fire Departments around the country.
We cannot wait to test the DJI Neo out in the real world. Let us know in the comments below what you think about this new soon to be launched DJI drone and its rumored specifications.

I wouldn’t be buying this drone anyways but jpg only?
That definitely is a reason NOT to buy.
Let‘s wait and compare with announced Hoverair X1 Pro & ProMax.
O4 means it SHOULD work with my RC2. other than that the specs don’t bother me. not having SD card isn’t a big deal as I don’t need to store that much ON device. and JPEG is fine as well at that price point. I already have a M4P. Would like to pair with existing controller. If i can, I will buy.
Will it remain jpeg only, we’ve seen upgrades in software before to add into capabilities. For a lightweight unit for indoor shoots or around people the price point does make it interesting
I don’t see why DJI couldn’t make RAW/DNG available other then they would like us to shell out more money for the DJI Mini 4 Pro…
The lack of Micro SD slot is even more disappointing considering the relatively small 22 GB built in storage capacity. Maybe it doesn’t have RAW/DNG to avoid that poor capacity storage to fill up very quickly? Even then, it will still fill up in no time with just a few minutes of 4K video.
We can only hope that the “no SD & no RAW” specifications won’t be true, otherwise it’ll be a good deal breaker for many. It could have been a HOVERAir X1 killer, but they missed the ball on it by deciding to axe Micro SD/RAW.
I think this all has to do with weight savings / costs saving AND upselling to more expensive DJI drones. However, for the people who want to grab a quick aerial photo or video and download it to their photo through wife/bluetooth so that can share it on social, this will work just fine. For more serious work… get a more serious drone.
I was excited about this drone until no RAW and no SD card specs. 😒
If it can fly in acro mode then it would be sweeeeeet
