Arguably one of the most important gatherings in the drone industry is the FAA UAS Symposium that is organized in partnership with AUVSI. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s event will be held online. Here’s the FAA UAS Symposium Program Agenda as just announced by the FAA.
The FAA UAS Symposium Program Agenda
The FAA UAS Symposium will take place in two sessions. The first one takes place on July 8-9, followed by the second session on August 18-19.
Some of the items on the agenda are waiver expiration, STEM Happens, UTM, UAS IPP, Accidents Investigations, LAANC, Part 107 and Remote ID, and more.
All in all, it promises to be a very interesting event, however, I do have one problem with this year’s online-only FAA UAS Symposium and that is the price of admission… It will costs you $375 if you want to be able to follow all sessions online for both episodes. I think that is a bit steep for an online seminar organized by a tax-payer-funded agency. Especially if the FAA strives to reach and educate as many drone pilots as possible. I truly believe the FAA UAS Symposium should be free. Anyways, here’s the agenda:
