Many folks online have called the DJI Mini 3 Pro ugly, but I think there is beauty in making a sub-250-gram drone that is packed with features and provides the highest possible image and video quality in such a small package.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro drone seems very purposefully designed with function taking a front-row seat over form.

Based on these leaked photos, the DJI Mini 3 Pro seems to be able to shoot both in landscape as well as in portrait mode. This means that you should be able to record aerial videos with the DJI Mini 3 Pro in a vertical orientation so that no cropping will be needed to share the footage directly to TikTok, Instagram, or other social media platforms. Sweet.

The camera on the DJI Mini 3 Pro features an f/1.7 aperture for improved low-light performance.

You can see that the design is very different compared to the outgoing DJI Mini 2. There is no backdoor to get to the battery. The DJI Mini 3 Pro seems to feature a battery that slides out completely. The battery is the back cover if you will. There are two release buttons on the aircraft.

The forward-facing obstacle avoidance sensors are clearly visible. There are also cutouts on the back of them which seem to provide obstacle-avoidance capabilities to the back as well.

In this photo, you can clearly see how the front arms rotate and swing backward when folding the drone. The rear arms simply swing forward.

The front-facing arms feature LED lights. You can also see a USB-C port and a MicroSD card slot above the battery on the back of the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

On the top of the DJI Mini 3 Pro we see a power on/off button and four LED lights to indicate the battery status.

There are two openings that will help cool the internal components of this yet-to-be-released DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.

At the bottom of the DJI Mini 3 Pro we see obstacle avoidance sensors as well that will help with precision landing the drone.

Red tips on the propellers are very similar to the props on the DJI Mavic 3. It seems that DJI has completely moved away from the swept-back wingtips we saw on older models in favor of this new material. The red tips will help to make the drone quieter.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro rests on four little feet on the body of the aircraft. No more feet at the end of the front legs as we saw with the DJI Mini 2 drone.

The front leg on the DJI Mini 3 Pro shows what model DJI drone we’re looking at, in case there was any doubt left. The shape of the legs seems a little more aerodynamic and more triangular to improve strength while keeping the weight below 250 grams.

Let us know in the comments below, what you think of these photos and of the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Are you getting one?

  1. Why do they have the unit in their hands but don’t turn it in and tell us the specs 😭
