FPV Drone Captures Thrilling Windsurf Foiling Action at Lake Garda

In a recent video, a group of windsurfers showcased incredible footage captured by an FPV (First Person View) drone at Lake Garda in Italy. The drone, piloted by skilled operator Patrick Lombardi, provided a unique perspective on the high-speed action of windsurf foiling.

As one of the windsurfers, Nico Prien explained, “on a normal drone footage you kind of don’t really understand this speed of what’s happening in foiling… but you don’t feel it not as much as with an fpv drone.”

Flying an FPV drone at such high speeds requires exceptional skills, with Nico noting that “to properly fly the FPV drone you need some really really good skills you basically need to be a professional because it’s probably as sketchy as foiling itself at such a high speed.”

Meeting FPV Drone Pilot Patrick Lombardi

During a training session in the north of Lake Maes, the group met Patrick Lombardi, an extremely skilled FPV drone operator. Lombardi showcased his latest creation, the Aqua 4.0, a fully waterproof and floatable drone capable of reaching speeds up to 150 km per hour.

While attempting to demonstrate the drone’s ability to land and take off from the water, Lombardi encountered a minor setback. However, he remained optimistic, stating, “It’s not broken. It’s just that maybe some electronic I but wow, definitely some of the coolest wind surfing footage I’ve ever seen.”

The windsurfers were thrilled with the footage captured by Lombardi’s drone, with one participant saying, “it was just a super nice feeling if you guys enjoyed it let us know down Below in the comments and do you want us to do more with Patrick also let us know in the comments maybe we can arrange something for future videos.”
