Leaked Presentation Confirms DJI Neo Specs
In one of his tweets, Ellens shared an image of a product specification sheet for what appears to be the DJI Neo drone. The presentation, given by a woman, showcases key features of the new device:
- Weight: Approximately 135g
- Camera: 1/2 inch sensor, 12MP, 4K/30fps video recording
- Flight time: Around 18 minutes
- Maximum flight distance: Varies by region (FCC: 10km, CE: 6km, SRRC: 6km, MIC: 6km)
- Storage: 22GB with Wi-Fi transmission support
“Times are changing. Here we see a woman openly giving a presentation on the #DJINEO,” Ellens commented, highlighting the increasing diversity in the drone industry.
Early Availability and Preorder Suggestions
Interestingly, Ellens noted that the DJI Neo is already available for purchase in some countries: “In other places like the Philippines you can already buy the Neo in the shop.” He suggested that DJI should implement a preorder system to reduce wait times for eager customers in other regions.
Impressive Camera Quality
In a subsequent post, Ellens shared a night-time photograph allegedly taken by the DJI Neo. The image showcases a coastal city scene with illuminated buildings and swimming pools, demonstrating the drone’s low-light capabilities.
“One of my friends on X was scrolling thru the #Lightcut app and showed me this #DJINEO picture between the templates,” Ellens explained. He added, “From another friend I hear he is #very pleased with the camera quality on his Neo and I see reason to believe him.”
The shared image’s metadata indicates it was taken with a “DJI NEO camera 27mm f/5.6 1/100 ISO 500,” providing further confirmation of the drone’s specifications.
DroneXL’s Take
The leaked information about the DJI Neo drone aligns with the industry trend towards more compact, feature-rich devices with impressive imaging capabilities. As DJI continues to innovate, we’re seeing a push towards better low-light performance and longer flight times in smaller form factors. This development could significantly impact various sectors, from recreational drone use to professional applications in fields like real estate and event photography.
