A newly leaked image reveals the a glimpse of DJI’s upcoming O4 Air Unit Pro, with sources suggesting a February 2025 release window, according to drone industry insider Jasper Ellens. The leaked product photo shows the dual-antenna design and updated camera module that will be part of DJI’s next-generation digital FPV system.

Enhanced Camera and Transmission System

The leaked image showcases the retail box of the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro. It is worth noting that the at the top of the box it doesn’t say Pro. You have to look closer at the central processing module to see the ‘Pro’ designation.

The device has a refined design featuring a high-quality camera unit connected to a central processing module via what appears to be a flexible cable system. This setup suggests improved mounting options for diverse drone configurations. Rumors and leaked information indicate the Pro version will utilize a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor with an F2.0 aperture, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor’s 1/1.7-inch sensor.

Dual Market Strategy

DJI appears to be pursuing a two-pronged approach with its O4 Air Unit lineup. Industry sources indicate pricing may land around $210 for the Pro version, while a standard model could retail for approximately $120. The Pro variant targets professional cinematographers with its enhanced features, while the standard version caters to racing enthusiasts and hobbyists seeking a more streamlined solution.

Compatibility and Integration

The O4 Air Unit series is expected to integrate seamlessly with DJI’s forthcoming Goggles N3 and support a broad ecosystem of DJI drones. The introduction of the O4 Air Unit represents DJI’s continued push to dominate the digital FPV market, though the company has yet to make an official announcement regarding the product’s specifications or release date.
