DJI Accidentally Leaks Osmo Nano Camera on Social Media

DJI has unintentionally revealed its upcoming Osmo Nano action camera after posting the product image during a promotion for the DJI Mic 3. The mistake was first spotted just minutes ago, by DroneXL’s DJI rumors specialist Jasper Ellens, who shared the images and details on X and here on DroneXL.

How the Osmo Nano Leak Happened

The incident occurred when DJI Global uploaded a social media post introducing the DJI Mic 3, an advanced wireless microphone. However, embedded in the promotional video was an image of the unreleased Osmo Nano camera, showing both its lens and rear display.

Ellens highlighted the mistake, noting, “Oops! In a unexpected turn of events @DJIGlobal themselves LEAKED the #OsmoNano on X.”

The image showed DJI’s branding alongside the tagline “Own the Moment,” confirming the product name and positioning.

Details Confirmed by the Images

The leaked visuals depict the Osmo Nano as a compact action camera with a front-facing lens and a rear display for live view and controls. While DJI has not released official specifications, the appearance suggests it is designed to compete in the lightweight, portable action camera market. The imagery aligns with DJI’s existing Osmo product line, known for stabilization, portability, and content-creator-friendly features.

The Mic 3 launch post itself listed extensive features of DJI’s new wireless microphone system, including 4TX + 8RX connection, dual-file 32-bit float internal recording, adaptive gain control, and dual-band anti-interference technology. But it was the accidental inclusion of the Osmo Nano that quickly drew attention.

Significance for DJI and Pilots

Leaks of upcoming DJI products are not uncommon, but this instance is notable because it originated directly from DJI’s official social media account. For drone pilots and content creators, the Osmo Nano could expand DJI’s lineup of portable filming tools, offering a lightweight companion to aerial footage.

The timing also suggests DJI may be preparing for a broader launch event where both the Mic 3 and Osmo Nano could be introduced together as part of a creator-focused ecosystem.

DroneXL’s Take

DJI rarely slips up like this, which makes the Osmo Nano leak all the more intriguing. The company’s accidental reveal hints at a push to strengthen its ground-based camera offerings alongside drones. If the Osmo Nano delivers on portability and video quality, it could appeal to drone pilots looking for a versatile on-the-ground complement to aerial shots.
