The DJI Flip just hit $349 on Amazon, down from its $439 list price. That is 21% off and, per Amazon’s own badge, the lowest price in 30 days. This isn’t a single-listing markdown either: all four Flip configurations are discounted at once, every one of them ships with Prime, and all four showed in stock when I checked the listing this morning, July 2.
We flew the Flip for half a year for our six-month long-term review, and my conclusion hasn’t changed since we wrote The DJI Flip Is Ugly. Buy It Anyway. in May: this is the drone I point first-time pilots to. At $349, that recommendation gets easier.
Every Flip Configuration Is Discounted Right Now
All four DJI Flip variants on Amazon carry roughly the same 20-21% discount, are Prime-eligible with free delivery, and were in stock at the time of writing. Here is the full breakdown of MSRP, deal price, and savings for each configuration.
The base RC-N3 version is the headline deal at $349 on Amazon. The listing sits at 4.5 stars across more than 900 ratings, with over 200 units bought in the past month.
What $349 Buys You
The DJI Flip is a sub-249 gram folding drone with a 48MP 1/1.3-inch sensor, an f/1.7 lens, and 4K video at up to 100 frames per second on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal. Because it stays under 249 grams, recreational flyers in the U.S. skip FAA registration.
Its defining feature is the built-in propeller guards. The full-coverage cage design lets the Flip launch from your palm and fly closer to people and obstacles than a Mini dares. You also get up to 31 minutes of flight time, DJI’s O4 transmission rated to 13 km (FCC), forward 3D infrared sensing plus downward vision sensors, and RAW (DNG) stills. Obstacle sensing is not omnidirectional, so it won’t dodge a tree coming in from the side. The guards are the trade-off that makes that acceptable for beginners.
Which Version Should You Buy
Buy the $349 RC-N3 version if you’re starting out and don’t mind using your phone as the screen. Most first-time buyers should stop right there.
Pick the RC 2 version at $509 if you want the controller with the built-in screen: no phone, no cables, faster takeoffs on cold mornings. The $619 Fly More Combo makes sense if you already know one battery won’t cut it. And the sleeper pick is the $309 Two-Battery Combo: no controller included, so it only makes sense if you already own an RC-N3 or RC 2, the two controllers the Flip pairs with. Older DJI remotes like the RC-N1 or RC-N2 from earlier Mini models won’t work. If yours qualifies, it’s the cheapest way in, with a spare battery on top.
DroneXL’s Take
I called the Flip ugly in May and told you to buy it anyway at full price. At $349 it’s not even a debate. With DJI’s December 2025 addition to the FCC Covered List blocking U.S. authorization for future models, the DJI drones already approved and sitting on Amazon’s shelves make up most of what American buyers get to choose from, and discounts like this on in-stock DJI hardware are worth acting on rather than watching. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to get a first drone before the July 4 weekend, this is it. Fly it responsibly: under 250 grams still means following the rules, and don’t be that guy who takes it near the fireworks show.
