DJI Mavic 4 Pro in Final Production, Launch Appears Imminent

A new leaked photograph from DJI’s production line provides the strongest evidence yet that the highly anticipated DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone is nearing its commercial release. The image, shared by reliable industry watcher Jasper Ellens, reveals multiple Mavic 4 Pro units undergoing what appears to be final quality control inspection alongside the new RC2 controller.
The black-and-white photograph, taken in what appears to be a DJI production facility, shows at least five DJI Mavic 4 Pro drones arranged on a workbench alongside specialized testing equipment, as Jasper points out. While certain areas of the image are obscured, the visible portions clearly display the drone’s distinctive design features, including its streamlined arms and characteristic bulb-shaped camera housing that accommodates the triple-camera array.
DJI Mavic 4 Pro Launch Imminent
The timing of this leak aligns with industry speculation about an April 2025 release, though the advanced state of production suggests DJI might be ahead of schedule. This development comes as retailers have been clearing inventory of the current Mavic 3 lineup, often a reliable indicator of an impending product launch.
According to previous technical specifications revealed on DroneXL.co, the Mavic 4 Pro represents a significant advancement in consumer 无人机技术. The new model is expected to feature a groundbreaking triple-camera system, including a 4/3 CMOS primary sensor with electronic ND 过滤器, a 50mm equivalent medium telephoto, and a 166mm equivalent telephoto lens. These imaging capabilities are complemented by an extended flight time of up to 52 minutes, achieved through aerodynamic improvements and new low-noise propellers.
The presence of the RC Pro 2 controller in the leaked image confirms earlier reports about DJI’s new OcuSync 4+ transmission system. This controller, featuring a foldable screen design, will be essential for operators as the Mavic 4 Pro will not maintain backward compatibility with previous-generation controllers or batteries.
While the photograph provides compelling evidence of imminent production, several questions remain unanswered. The presence of specialized testing equipment in the background suggests DJI is implementing rigorous quality control measures, particularly important given the drone’s advanced features like GPS-independent return-to-home capability and enhanced visual positioning system.

The Mavic 4 Pro’s weight of approximately 2.3 pounds (1,045g) may present regulatory challenges in certain markets, particularly under evolving EU drone regulations. However, its professional-grade features, including potential RTK positioning capabilities and enterprise-level imaging performance, position it as a versatile tool for both creative professionals and commercial operators.
These production line images suggest DJI is maintaining its aggressive innovation pace in the consumer drone market, even as the company faces increasing competition and regulatory scrutiny worldwide. The Mavic 4 Pro’s imminent release could signal a new benchmark for consumer drone capabilities, particularly in areas of camera technology and flight performance.

One sign that guarantees a release sooner rather than later?
Amazon has extended their sale of Mavic 3 Pros until the end of this month.
They are all pre production testing units, that isn’t a production line, looks like an office space with a white board and a person scrubbed out of the image, I still think end of march for April release.
They are in no rush to get it to market, and will want to avoid the misshaps with the original mavic 3 taking over 6 months to get all the software features it was announced with but didnt arrive with.
It also makes sense to give it a few months from the Christmas and holiday season to give peoples wallets time to recover, especially as this is going to be one pricey bird.
