A police drone helps to locate a ‘high-risk’ missing woman in Derbyshire in the UK. As we have seen in many other examples, the drone pilot was able to find the missing person quickly with the help of the unmanned aircraft.
Police drone helps to find ‘high-risk’ missing woman
The Derbyshire Times reports that, officers were dispatched to woodland in Long Eaton to look for the high-risk missing woman. Given the fact that the area that was to be searched was very large, the decision was made to use a drone to help locate the woman.
The Derbyshire Constabulary Drone Unit tweeted:
Reports of a high risk missing person in Long Eaton. Officers were dispatched to the scene and, given the large area our drone was deployed. The drone operator quickly spotted the woman and directed officers to her location. The woman was left in the care of paramedics.
The woman, reportedly, was not injured and was left in the care of the paramedics. Over recent years we have seen many examples of people being found with the help of drones. Especially when outfitted with thermal cameras, drones can quickly scan large areas and help find missing people much faster than can be done with traditional search methods.
