Skydio about to deliver first batch of drones to US Army – Blue sUAS drone maker Skydio has been chosen by the US Army to continue in a final prototyping phase of its Skydio X2D drone. This should result in Skydio delivering the first batch of short-range reconnaissance drones to the US Army.
Kittyhawk launches B4UFLY desktop app for easier LAANC applications – Ever since Kittyhawk took over the development and management of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) B4UFLY app we have seen a steady flow of improvements that added new features to the app and made it easier to use. Now, Kittyhawk introduces the B4UFLY desktop web app that will allow you to submit LAANC applications, pre-plan your flights, and more right from your desktop. We recommend to all our readers to either use Kittyhawk's B4UFLY or UASidekick, but to stay away from money-hungry Airmap.
AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2021 will be held as hybrid event series – Last year the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) was a completely virtual event. This year the association will be holding a hybrid event series with an online-only event in the spring, to be followed by an in-person event later in the summer, assuming that the pandemic will allow for such an event to take place.
